This is the first page of many that will chronicle the entire "behind the scenes" of the new Destiny movie.
Enjoy!
May 5th 2009 - Teaser Complete!
Finished rendering a few days back, and put it all together. Then YouTube muted the audio due to current copyright laws, but facebook doesn't seem to have that problem, so happy days!
You can also download the following .wmv to view the teaser. It's 7.33mb, scaled to 368x208.
Just finished the final 3 scenes of my teaser trailer (which actually take place about half way through -curse of film making, nothing's done in order). The 3rd image has changed angle slightly for better camera movement, didn't look right after I rendered it.
April 28th 2009 - New Home For Humanity
Here's the longest scene to render in the teaser trailer. Only weighing in at 9 seconds (225 frames), every frame shows the starship window with a young Detrini staring out into space. The window is reflective, giving blurred reflections of the colonist filled room.
April 27th 2009 - DESTINY -NEW Title
Here's a screenshot of the title from my Destiny movie I'm working on. Detrini, the main character, will run in on the background, jump/run across the downed robot, then go into my combat animation I did a month ago.
Rather then just doing a title on a plain background, which was the original idea, I decided to do this "motion backdrop" to link a couple scenes together. And it works well.
As of yet, it's just called Destiny still. But I keep thinking it should be called Destiny: . If you have any ideas for the title, please let me know.
I've got about 6 scenes left to do of this "teaser trailer", hopefully should be done and online by the end of the week. Here's hoping.
April 23rd 2009 - Combat Test - Camera Setup
I've taken the previous combat test even further, by adding the movie characters, blood, and camera movement. You may notice a camera jolt near the beginning, this is because I'll be adding a couple extra seconds for some closeup animation on Detrini. You'll also see she has 2 swords here, this is because she changes hands mid animation, so 1 will be hidden at all times.
April 23rd 2009 - CrazyTest2
I redone my test with Crazy Talk, with only moving the mouth, and adding Gemma's voice over from the original Destiny from last year. Here's the result.
April 16th 2009 - CrazyTest
I will not be using CrazyTalk in my Destiny movie. It's a good program, don't get me wrong, but I need top quality. I know this'll mean the movie will take longer to make, but at least I'll be happier with the finished product.
April 3rd 2009 - Bloody Soldiers
You may remember this guy from my Combat Test animation. It's one of the soldiers all kitted up, and being slightly hacked to death. The left is where Detrini's sword tore through his side after being stabbed, the right is quite obviously him being decapitated.
April 2nd 2009 - Arrival
At the start of the movie, a young Detrini is seen on-board a colony ship (carrying the last survivor's of Earth), to their new home. This will be part of the first 5 minutes of the movie. Expect this scene to be populated with more characters on release.
March 27 2009 - Running City Test
Here's part of the city that'll be seen in the distance while Detrini is running into battle. This is the same run cycle I created before. Quite obviously, she's running on a sphere, I'm doing it like this as a lot of anime does the same effect. Also it gives the sense that the world is moving, when in actual fact everything is simply on a rotation.
March 19 2009 - Combat Test 1
First combat test using only the base models, not kitted out in their outfits.
Still needs blood added and extra soldiers that get sliced by her blade.
