Pre-Production -Phase1

This is the third page of many that will chronicle the entire "behind the scenes" of the new Destiny movie.

Enjoy!

August 10th 2009 - Screenplay Complete!  ...Finally.

Ok, I've finally finished writing the screenplay, now just need to type it up and make some alterations.  Also, it's now being tired directly into New Dawn!  The way I ended everything, it just feels right.  Unfortunately, you won't know what I'm talking about here for a long time.  It's good, trust me.

August 7th 2009 - Bridge of the Avalon

Though not featured much in the movie, since the ship crashes, this is still one of the early scenes to be shown.  Expect it to be populated with crew.  It's a huge set, so I will have the camera showing more of it as the crew goes about their work.

The scene also introduces the Commander and the Lieutenant (a character that will crop up later in the movie too).  This image only features the Commander.

August 6th 2009 - Just a small update

This week began with with a little work on "the art of New Dawn", which basically is me showing off what's to come once Destiny has been completed.  So for anyone interested in funding my movies, or helping in any way, now is your chance to jump on board, and contact me.

So, very small update, as I've been on holiday this week.  Here for the first time, are Detrini's parents.
Detrini's father is the Commander of the Avalon.  The ship Detrini arrived to Zal'Lanora on.  No details are given in the story to what her mom does, or what happen's to her after the "attack" which causes the ship to crash into the planet's seas.

July 30th 2009 - The End Is Coming...

Bet no-one was expecting this.  A second movie trailer, this time showing the darker side of Destiny, featuring all new content, and dialogue by myself, as I have cast myself as Rradarok!  Enjoy people!!

July 29th 2009 - Rradarok!

So, here's the face of the enemy.  Genetically twisted, whist trying to find a cure for his species' ever decaying DNA, Rradarok becomes obsessed with the eradication of the human survivors living on Zal'Lanora.  He is only seen in this form towards the end of the movie.

The artistic technique shown here, is what to expect for the entire look of NEW DAWN -which will feature more detailed characters and sets, yet still keeping the overall DESTINY look.

July 25th 2009 - Well This Is New

So, a couple nights back I went ahead and animated an entire scene to show off another new character to Destiny.  I'm keeping a lid on it for a few days, but the animation's looking pretty good.

July 17th 2009 - Bridge Race

Ok, so recently, it's all been about speed.  Ironically, that hasn't been the case with working on Destiny this past week.  Lack of sleep has really been catching up with me.  Working full-time, and working on the movie, is in effect 2 jobs.  It's getting harder and harder to do both.  But hey, complaining about it isn't gonna get the movie out faster now, is it.

Here's a new image of Detrini on her bike, riding across a bridge previously seen in the teaser and pre-production trailers.  I've decided to have some motion blur in the movie, but I'm not wanting to blur the characters too much.  So on a scene like this, its really the background moving, while the camera is fixed on Detrini's postion, giving a true sence of speed, while keeping the detail of the character sharp.

I'm liking it.  What do you think?

July 15th 2009 - Speeder Pose

Just a quickie today so far, as I'm shattered.  Off to rest for a couple hours.  So, here's Carl Krainer, the first time we see him in the movie, suited up in his biker gear.

July 14th 2009 - Votes are in

Out of all the people that got back to me on whether to use motion blur or not, only 2 have said to use it.  Which means that motion blur will not be used (although, I may use it for extreme close-ups when the background is moving at high speeds, simply to set it apart from the focused character).

It's been another one of those weeks so far.  In which (because of my full-time job) I haven't been able to get more movie work done.  Though I have been working on even more of the screenplay, and there's going to be quite a few surprises to come, which will also link to the possible 2 movies to follow.

July 9th 2009 - Pre-production has begun

Okay, so to be fair, pre-production really began a while back before the trailer, and you could say even before the teaser.  But I'd prefer to say that its only been a few of weeks, since about the time I started writing the screenplay -which is coming on really well by the way.

Movie pre-production normally lasts 3-4 months.  I'm thinking I could get on to production in about 2 months.  Don't be surprised if it does take longer, as I'm working full-time elsewhere, and I really don't wanna mess this up.

So, I've been working on a new image today of Carl Krainer and his new "speeder".  It still hovers, but its now a completely new model, which is more streamlined, and has a passenger seat at the rear.  It looks very cool.

But, I have an issue.  Do I, or don't I decide to include motion blur into Destiny: The Movie?  Once the decision is made, then thats final, so....HELP!

Top image is the original, the bottom one has the motion blur.  Click the image for a more detailed look, and let me know.
