Pre-Production -Phase2

This is the forth page of many that will chronicle the entire "behind the scenes" of the new Destiny movie.

Enjoy!

January 15th 2010 - Late 2010

Destiny will go back into production late this year.  Desert Earth is proving itself to be a very interesting project.  I have already received much feedback from the first episode from many people via my personal facebook, e-mail, YouTube, and in person for those not online who've received it on DVD.

On completion of this series, I should've amounted enough knowledge of motion comics to do the Destiny movie justice.

See you nearer the end of the year.

December 31st 2009 - It's gonna be a while

You may have noticed that Destiny has had a pretty big time out.  I'm really sorry about this.  I tend to have a really bad habit of creating new stories with new characters, and I get a little sidetracked.  Plus the fact that it takes hours to hand animate a few seconds of animation, it really got to bug the hell outta me.

Which brings me to my current project, Desert Earth, which is a motion comic (similar to the original "Destiny: vol.1: Clash").  This is the first ever project where I myself have a starring role, that alone makes this a pretty big thing for me.  Add to that, everyone taking part in the series has their photographed face on their respected characters.  So that's a lot of photo's I'm taking, all against greenscreen.  The results have been pretty impressive.

So, getting back to Destiny.  At the end of the day, my goal is simply to tell a story.  It's been suggested that I write a book of short stories, as I've loads kicking around, so that's a possibility.  But I also like to do something visual, and I've found that creating motion comics could be the best way for me to reach my goal.  It's not only faster to produce, but there's also a lot visually that I could do with it.  Destiny: The Movie is looking like it'll get this treatment.  Please, don't by any means think of this as a bad thing.  I'm aiming for the best quality for Destiny, and I don't plan to fail myself, let alone my viewers.

I will update more on this in the future.  Have a happy new year, roll on 2010!!!

September 27th 2009 - Ok, back to work

I've spoken to one of the "Destiny: The Movie" cast members, and it has been decided to dub in the voices, rather then record all cast members from day one. More time to sort out the finacial stuff now then, and crack on with the animation!

It's been a nice break from doing any work for a while.  My girlfriend and my friends think I need to relax a little more, that I'm working way too much.  Unfortunately, I'm starting to agree with them.  Hopefully the few weeks off of the project is enough.  By the end of this week, I'll be back to working on some more pre-production material, and will begin production before the year is out.

The really good news, from what I've been told by people interested in voicing, is that the screenplay is a "real page turner".

So that's really not too bad for my first ever screenplay!

September 11th 2009 - Casting and project vision

Screenplays have been out for the past week to bring on some new cast, and I'm currently searching for a local recording studio.  Two potential cast members both know people with studios, it's all down to pricing right now.

My main vision for the movie, is for it to become as much community based as I can.  It is, after all, a fully computer generated movie, coming out of Cornwall, UK.
Cornwall tends to be part of the country that people class as the inland holiday spot.  Other then that, Cornwall tends to be left out of more industrial projects and so forth, and people wanting to get anywhere to make something of their lives are having to move into the cities up north.  So my question here is, why?
Cornwall has a wide variety of people, many who's talents only need to be tapped.  We no longer live in an age where you have to be in the city.  It's the digital age, and everything we could possibly want is at our fingertips.  So it's time people realised who's down here, and what can be produced.

And so, all voices for DESTINY: The Movie, will be recorded in Cornwall, and all cast members, even if they are not originally from Cornwall, currently live here.  The movie is being funded by myself, unless funding were to come from any groups and peoples in Cornwall.  The movie is made entirely in Cornwall, though this excludes the 3D resources which are from the online communities, bought and paid for by myself.

This movie is to be released on DVD for retail sale.

August 24th 2009 - Moving on to storyboarding!

The screenplay has now been fully typed up, and alterations made.  So now I'm moving onto sorting out all the visual stuff.  The entire project is being done as professional as possible, it also makes for a lot of "making of" stuff that may interest some of you.
